12/27/2023 0 Comments Ftl faster than light boarding dronesThe one with the harden shields and the crew who provides power to whatever system they're working. I feel this game is a 100% buy at 10bucks and the developers are worth supporting.Įdit: I'm currently using a zoltan ship. ![]() Minor things but it does feel like I can totally beat the boss on normal given enough luck and good choices.Īnd if he ever supplies more content (story, ships, races, quest, exploration, artifacts.) or opens it up to modding id jizz my pants. Learning best how to group my weapons, judging when its best to run and what quest tend to be worth it, how to get the most jumps out of each sector, targeting and ship upgrades. I also feel as if i'm getting better and learning new tricks. I've gotten to the second stage boss a hand full of times now and unlocked 2 more ships and 2 alts (all on normal) and they are different enough where it totally changes your strategies. I feel you and mostly agree but I still enjoy the game. But a boss battle that just fucks you in the ass for picking the wrong weapon? No fun. The randomness makes it very difficult you can die early just because you're not lucky enough to find a store or find a store with the type of items you need. Of course, you can unlock other ships, that in many ways are better than the initial Fed cruiser. I shudder to think what he's like on Normal difficulty. I jumped out once, repaired, and tried again, but it was no use. It's very unfair for the game to require a very limited set of items to defeat the end boss that you have no way of knowing you'll need in advance. But I didn't have that.Īnd that's unfair. Like the teleporting bomb, or maybe crew teleport and lots of crew. I had an ion cannon but it seemed ineffective.īasically, you need a completely different weapon to take out the Return of Boss Boss. I couldn't use my missiles because of the defense drone, and I couldn't take out the drone control because his level four shields regenerated too quickly. The drone and teleporting saboteurs will eat you up. And he's supposedly "damaged" but when he comes back he's in a completely different configuration, and he's got A BUNCH OF DRONES AND A DEFENSE DRONE. You see the boss comes back after you destroy him. But I handled him pretty well and blew him up without too much trouble thansk to my missiles. He's a big guy level four shields, four weapons, and a teleporting saboteur who is deadly. This morning I finally reached the boss battle in the last sector. It's a pretty good way to handle most of the enemies in the game. But that's okay you can use your beam weapons on drone control to knock it out and then use your missiles. They go right through shields the only thing that can stop them is a defense drone. Missiles are pretty much the best weapon in the game. But there's an Easy mode, so I've taken to playing that. The main problem on Normal difficulty is there's just not enough scrap to upgrade your ship and buy repairs and supplies and so on. A lot of games are too easy today, and it's nice to have a challenge. As it happens they only have a single Ion gun which barely inconveniences us, and our inevitable victory gives us 3 fuel, 1 drone part, and 38 scrap. But, that's okay. They have a defense drone deployed, but I figure it's worth risking a missile shot at their shields - however it misses and we save our ammo. The Engi tend to field drones and ion cannon on their ships Ion guns will temporarily disable systems they hit. Our next jump brings us against an Engi scout. (IME I've found we get less loot for wrecking enemies than we get if we accept their offer, but I'm willing to be persuaded otherwise). Rock ships have this annoying ability to occasionally no-sell damage, but even so we reduce them to terms: they offer us two missiles, 1 Drone part, and 22 scrap, which we accept. They open fire with blasters, only we blast back better. ![]() Our first victim is a Rock scout hiding in the nebula. Starting from our current location, we're going to try and work anti-clockwise and hit the ships nearest to us before hitting the store. Our next jump takes us to a friendly Zoltan ship who give us a tour of their facilities, during which we swipe a copy of the local system map. ![]() We net ourselves a missile, a Drone Part, and a further 31 Scrap for our troubles. The enemy only has energy weapons so we save our drones. With this in mind we save our ammo and trust our beloved Burst Laser (Max calls it Vera) to do the job. Zoltan ships have this funky extra shield thingy which you have to deplete before you can deal with them properly - it even absorbs missiles. On the unanimous advice of our crew, we hoist the black flag and look for throats to slit, starting with a lone Energy Fighter. I'll keep it in mind that layout would be a lot kinder on our reactor too, which is a bonus.
